The Russian tenor Aleksandr Nesterenko first received his musical education at the music school in Mineralovodsk and then completed his studies at the state S.V. Rachmaninov Conservatory (Academy) in Rostov-on-Don.
While being a student he performed Alfredo Verdi «La Traviata» and Alfredo Strauss «Die Fledermaus» in Stavropolsky Theater in Pyatigorsk.
From 2011 to 2014 he was in the ensemble of the Rostov State Musical Theater and took over roles such as Alfredo in Giuseppe Verdi «La Traviata», the title role in Gounod’s Faust, Husar in Stravinsky’s Mavra, the title role in Lehárs «Paganini», Almerik in Tchaikovsky’s «Iolanta».
In 2014 he moved to the Stanislavski and Nemirowitsch-Danchenko Music Theater in Moscow, where he has performed roles including Lenski (Tchaikovsky «Eugene Onegin»), De Grieux (Massenet «Manon»), Rodolfo (Puccini «La Bohème»), Alfredo Germont (Verdi «La traviata»), Lord Arturo (Donizetti «Lucia di Lammermoor»), Prince (Prokofiev «The Love for Three Oranges»), Antonio (Prokofiev «Betrothal in a Monastery»), Don Ottavio (Mozart «Don Giovanni»). In 2014-2021 performed several theater tours in Shanghai Grand Opera («Eugene Onegin»), Israeli Opera («The Tale of Tsar Saltan»), Royal Opera House Muscat («Eugene Onegin»).
In August 2018, Aleksandr Nesterenko made his debut as Prince Sinodal in Rubinstein’s The Demon at the Fisher Center For The Performing Arts in Annandale- on-Hudson, USA. His engagement as Froh in Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” at the Oldenburg State Theater, originally planned for 2020, was canceled due to the corona pandemic and so he made his German debut as Rodolfo in summer 2021 at the Eutin Festival.
Guest engagements have also taken him to the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Festival, the Bolshoi Theater, the Krasnoyarsk State Opera, the Kyrgyzstan National Opera, the Kazan State Opera, the Magdeburg Theater and the Rostock People’s Theater.
Aleksandr Nesterenko made his debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 2022/23 season as Raimond in Tchaikovsky’s The Maid of Orléans.
